I am unable to use the content filtering service on a symantec firewall 360
which is connectected to my Windows server 2003/2000 network. I contacted
symantec and was advised that my LAN DNS server needed to point to the
firewall. I am not familiar with this. Thanks for any help regarding this
matter.

If you do not understand their advice I would call them back and ask them to
be more specific and possibly a link to a document that includes step by
step info. For an Active Directory domain your domain computers must point
only to domain controllers however your domain controllers that are dns
servers can forward to an ISP dns server so that your domain computers can
resolve internet names which you probably are doing already. I don't see how
their advice would fix anything if your domain already can resolve internet
names. My guess is that there are some settings in the firewall itself that
needs to be configured such the site name that is used for the content
filtering service and maybe an IP address of your ISP dns server.
