I have a contact in outlook that just switched jobs and
now has a new e-mail address. When you start typing the
first part of the new e-mail address (which is similar to
the old one), the old one appears even though it has been
deleted. I was trying to find a way to get rid of the old
e-mail address for good. Any kind of response will be
helpful!

We could answer more accurately if you provided your Outlook version.
 
Right click the address that auto completes in the To... field (I can see
you must have 2002 or 2003!!) and delete it.

If your assumption on the version umber is correct (and it may not be, since
users confuse autocompletion with autoresolution all the time), this
solution is not. There is no such option in the context menu.

Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field. This technique differs slightly between Outlook 2002 and 2003, so
we still need to know the version number. To clear the entire cache, follow
