Hi:

In Outlook Express, I used to have my contacts listed in the right pane
below my folders tree. When I wanted to send an individual an email, all I
had to do was double-click on the contact name and viola! a new message
opened up with the recipient info in the "To" field.

I have been trying to do this with Vista's Windows Mail but haven't been
able to even find out if this is possible. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks in advance!
Glenn

They removed that option. Its a separate window now. Go to Start |
Programs | Windows Contacts or click on the button on the WinMail toolbar.

Just my luck that they would remove that option, I really liked it. In my
opinion, they should leave the small subtle options and work around them.

I realize that the contacts now open in their own window but too bad they
didn't make it possible to open that window in a pane in Windows Mail or be
able to make a pane with shortcuts to your individual contacts.

I realize that I'm just one fish in a big ocean and this rant could most
definitely be considered petty..

Thanks though for your help and comments,
Glenn

Add the Contacts gadget to the Sidebar then.

Its not petty. Many people complained about this in the beta, and they said
"too bad".

That doesn't translate into happy customers.

Apparently people at MS think WinMail has too many features already.

I'm no programmer, but if many people complained, it seems that it would
have been a fairly simple thing for MS to do. Oh well.
