Outlook 2000 (Internet Only config) on XP Home OS

I deleted 500+ Contact records from my Contacts folder. I have 800+
Contact records remaining, 2 of which I suspect are corrupt for the
following reasons:
- the gray bar that normally contains the Contact Name in bold appears
as a plain gray bar with no text inside
- these contact records can be opened but not edited
- these contact records cannot be deleted (Outlook freezes)

The 500+ Contact records that I just deleted are showing up in the
Delected Items folder. I have not been successful at deleting these:
- by emptying the Deleted Items folder (Outlook freezes)
- by attempting to delete only one at a time (Outlook freezes)

I have run Detect and Repair from the Outlook Help menu.
I have run the Inbox Repair Tool.
I have renamed outcmd.dat to outcmd.old.

What else can I do to get rid of these unwanted (500+) and bad (2)
Contact records?

Yes, that's what I meant by the Inbox Repair Tool. Sorry for the
confusion. It did find errors, which I had it fix. This PST was
recently cropped with the 2GB crop tool. I suspect that may be why
there is some lingering corruption.

Do you know how I can get those 500+ contacts out of my Delected Items
folder and remove those 2 bad Contact records?

Sorry, missed the reference to the repair tool. You might have to run it
multiple times to get rid of all the issues.

Can you select enteries and delete them with Shift-Delete?

Brian,

That is exactly (well, almost exactly!) what I discovered yesterday on
my own. You must have been sending me the vibes telepathically. I
tried Ctl-D with a single entry and it worked! So I proceeded to
delete each individual record in this manner. Even the two bad Contact
Records deleted this way.

Thanks to both Brian and Vince for replying to my post!
