Help
New PC.
Copied old [2003 version] pst file into default location.
Outlook works fine and contacts are all there and can be viewed, except in
new message at the "To" command, get message>
"The address list couldn't be displayed. The contact folder associated with
this address list could not be opened; it may have been deleted, or you
don't have permissions. For info' on how to remove this folder from the
Outlook Address Book, see ... help."
Help not a lot of use.

Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

When you transfer Outlook data, you must configure Outlook to use it. You
can't just plop it in a directory and expect Outlook to connect to it.
Your Outlook Address Book settings are now corrupt. If that's the only thing
that's broken, just remove and re-add the Outlook Address Book to reset it
(restart Outlook in between). If you find other problems, create a new
profile and then migrate your data correctly:

Thanks for that advice.
Looked at link & I had done what was required.
After much effort without any result, I ran the SCANPST.EXE tool. It worked
and I now have ny contacts showing/available for new messages.
Haven't a clue why I had this problem.
Thank you again for your response.
