I can see different address books with all the goods when composing an email
by click on the To: field and using the dropdown "Show Names from the". But
only half of those address books show up in the naviagaion pane of Contacts.
Thanks for the help!

Can you give a few examples though on the surface it sounds like you are
connecting to Exchange and if so then some of them will be Exchange
generated address containers for instance Global Address List, All Address
Lists, All Users etc.

Thanks for your response. I'm not connecting to Exchange. I am on a stand
alone system - 1 PC - no networking.

When I go into my Contacts - I have about 6 different address books -
church, school, rotary, different work books.

However, when typing a new email, I click on the To: field - the Select
Names dialog box opens, I click on the "Show names from the:" dropdown.
when I do, at least 12 address books appear that I have created over the
year. I need to add and remove some addresses from those books - but don't
see it in the contacts.

Thanks again for your help!

If you go to Tools || Address Books || Tools || Options || All the Address
Books will be listed in the bottom half of the view || if you select one and
click the properties button it will tell where the address book is located.
This way you can use the folder list to locate the folders and either go
into its properties and select the Outlook Address Book and un-check as
enable as address book or ultimately delete it. If you cannot find the
address books then removing and re-adding the Outlook Address Book Service
should remove the erroneous entries. To remove the Outlook Address Book
service then go to Tools || Email Accounts || view or change existing
directories or address books || NEXT || highlight the Outlook Address Book
and select Remove || Restart Outlook and then re-add the Service.
