I would like to send mail with Outlook, and when using the To button would like to select names. Contacts are not an option here, so no way to send mail to my own contacts. In the part where it says "Show names from the :", contacts is no longer an option.
This used to work, but the recent updates to Outlook took this away. The trouble with these updates is that it cannot be predicted what will or will not work afterwards. They surely are never tested.
There is also no way to add Contacts to the list of address books. What use is an e-mail program that does not allow to send mail to my own contacts ?
Why on earth would I maintain contacts if I can do this better with a personal address book ? Even the documentation says that Contacts is always in the list. Well. It is not. MS better read their own documentation form time to time.

You provided no troubleshooting information. Post your Outlook version and
the steps you took to disrupt the connection between the Outlook Address
Book and the Contacts Folder on which it was based. Ensure that your
Contacts Folder is enabled as an email address book in its properties.
