I have Office 2002 with all of the latest updates. I have identified two contacts so far that do not show up in the Contacts list when trying to print envelopes or labels

The two names show up in contacts under Outlook but I can not find them when I go to Tools, Letters and Mailings, Envelopes and Labels, click on Select Name Icon, choose Contacts from the Show Name from the: pull down box, and then type in the first name. I have checked the first & last names in Contacts to ensure that the formatting is correct

Thanks for anyone’s assistance

If you scroll through the list, can you find these contacts? Recreate one of
the Contacts from scratch and see if it appears.

I found the problem but not the solution. The missing names did not have email addresses. When I added an email address to each, one by one, they appeared under Word/Envelopes and Labels/Contacts. How can I correct the problem

Thanks

The address book in Word will show all Contacts, not just those with email
addresses. When the Word Address Book shows only Contacts with e-mail
addresses, that usually means you did an inplace upgrade from IMO support
mode of Outlook and Word's Address book remains linked to your old Outlook
profile. This MS KB article may help:

Thank you very much for your assistance, Russ. That corrected the problem. Please let me know if the IMO upgrade mode causes any other problems that I am not aware of.

Lots. Never upgrade over IMO without creating a new profile from scratch.

Is there something that I should do to reload Contacts? What exactly is IMO and does Microsoft proactively warn against it? Thanks

Your Contacts should be fine. It is the Outlook Address Book that had to be
reset. If you aren't having any more problems, then there may be nothing
else you need to do.

IMO = Internet Mail Only, a downsized simple version of Outlook designed
only for use with simple Internet transports, thereby missing many of the
full version's features. For information on the differences between mail
modes, look here:
