I had to rebuild a pc and resinstalled Outlook 2003. Orginally Outlook
was used stand alone, but now it is conected to Exchange.

When I imported the old .pst file, no contact information was import. I
opened the old .pst manually and still no contact infomation is found.
Doesn't outlook store all contact in formation in the pst file?

Thanks.

It does if you are not running against Exchange.
How did you create this PST file?

It was created by the user when he first started using outlook.

Is there some way that the contacts could of been stored else where?

No, Contacts could only exist in a PST file. No version of Outlook has used
a Personal Address Book file for 6 years or more, so it's unlikely the user
was keeping Contact information there. It's easy to copy the wrong PST file,
or to create an incomplete backup by doing an export instead of just copying
the file.
