can someone help me with this??? I had microsoft outlook
2000. when i upgraded to windows xp, it overwrote my old
microsoft outlook contacts file and i lost years worth of
business contactcs info. i think that contact list, the
original one, is in my computer somewhere, i would like to
retieve it, how can i do that?

If you overwrote your file, why do you think it might still be there? In any
case, search your system for .pst files. You might need to make an
adjustment in WIndows Explorer's Tools | Folder Options dialog to show
system and hidden files and folders.

Did you search all your drives? Did you change Windows Explorer so you can
search hidden and system *folders*?

If you still find nothing, then I think you can assume it's gone.

under normal circumstances, what is the file saved as? the
"contacts" file in outlook. and... where is it saved. I
have zero .pst files on my computer.
