Contacts in Outlook vs Address Book

I' using Outlook 2000 under Windows XP Pro SP2. When I attempt to send an
e-mail and press the "To" or "Cc" button, the addresses in the "Select Names"
dialog are not the same as those in my contacts folder, even though
"Contacts" is displayed (and is the only selection) in the window with the
down arrow (which I assume is the name of the list to be used). I've made
extensive changes to my Contacts list, but those changes are not reflected in
the "Select Names" list. How do I correct this problem? My Outlook Contacts
list is the ONLY name and address list that I want. How do I make that
happen?

Outlook 2000 existed as two completely different programs: Internet Mail
Only and Corp/Workgroup.
We cannot answer your question without knowing which you are using. If you
don't know, look in Help | About.
Also, use Folder List view and tell us how many Contacts Folders you have in
your profile.

Previously I used Corporate/Workgroups, but have recently switched back to
Internet Mail Only. I have only one contacts folder.

Then you are no longer using the Outlook Address Book. You are using the
Windows Address Book. You'll need to go into Outlook Express, open the
address book there and see what sharing options you have set. Reset sharing.
Outlook cannot display Contacts in its address book view that do not reside
within your Contacts Folder.
