My parent company has decided to go with a global email address scheme
instead of all of the companies having their own. Many of the companies that
I used to exchange contact info with (exchange 5.5) have already transitioned
to this new scheme, therefore, their email addresses have changed. My
company has not made the change.

I am running W2K domain and Exchange 2003. I have already set RUP to have
this new format ([email protected]). All contacts have the
correct email address now.

How do I modify the thousands of contacts so that their primary email
address is the new format and the Email attribute on the Exchange General tab
reflects the change? How do I remove the old email address?

Thanks in advance.

What DNS suffix do you want to use?

Two choices, as I see it: script this using ADSI or use LDIFDE.

There is an option to let the contacts update there e-mail addresses based
on the Recipient Policies in Exchange as it dose with user accounts. You may
write a script to enable this setting.
