you are saying that Contacts........."this is already in your contacts" when
it isn't true because it doesn't show up in the contacts.

How do we get all the windows mail contacts to show up in the contacts
folder like they are supposed to.

Tools > Options > Send. UN-check " Automatically put people I reply to in my
Contact list " > OK

Who is asking questions here ?
If you must hijack other's thread, at least enter your own question. Don't

I just starting using Vista, and I am having trouble managing my contacts. If
I type them in individuallly, they do not come up automatically when I send
mail. Why?

That is known as the auto-complete function.
Windows Mail does not auto-complete from your contacts.
It uses a separate list of the last 29 recipients you've sent mail to.

The auto-complete feature works perfectly in the replacement
program, Windows Live Mail, which uses the standard contacts list
for auto-completion.
You are encouraged to upgrade to the newer WLM program:

Only email addresses are given in "Contacts;' email's in "Sent," "Inbox."
"Outbox," "Deleted,"dRAFTS" ETC. w/in Windows Mail.

ONLY ADDRESSES SHOW UP IN "CONTACTS." Email sent , recieved
DRAFTS," Deleted" etc.,etc are part of Windows Mail types.
(e-mail address removed)

Thanks
