Contacts folder associated with the address could not be opened

I have a new twist to this age old problem. I recently upgraded to a new pc
with Vista. After Installing Outlook 2003 and importing my Outlook.pst file
to my new pc, I have 2 contacts folders, one is empty and the second is the
correct one. I have read all the threads and tried all the cures, but Vista
does not offer a way to delete the empty folder. I have set the options for
the address to use the correct folder, but it does not do that.

I need someone with Vista expertise to help on this one.

Never import from a PST. There's no reason to do so and you lose data.

Start with a new mail profile.

Okay, Im a little ignorant on this one, how do I create a new mail
profile

Control Panel>Mail>Show Profile>Add for Windows XP. I assume Vista has this
as well.
