Contacts Folder & Address Books--how are they related?

Hi,

I was reading one of the threads on problems with the
Contacts folder and the Outlook address book and I checked
my own setup. Discovered that my address book: Tools,
Address book, has MANY, MANY duplicate entries. But
there aren't duplicates in my Contacts.

Not ALL the entries in the address book have duplicates,
but lots and lots--some of them have triplicates!

How does this happen? And, how can I clean up my address
book?

Are you sure these are really duplicates? I rather suspect you are simply
seeing each Contact's electronic addresses listed separately, which is what
the Outlook Address Book does.
