I just upped to XP and Office 2003 and have one significant problem.Although my contact folder has all my contacts in it, when I enter a name in a new message, it is not recognized and the To: line is not automatically filled as it was with Office 2000. I restored this .pst file using a backup progrem, but have done such before within 2000 and all was well. I am going a bit nuts onthis - anyone help? Thanks -Neil

Clarify whether you are referring to autoresolution or autocompletion.
Office 2000 did not have the latter. Outlook 2003's autocompletion feature
won't function until you've populated your autocompletion cache by sending
messages.

Russ - Does this mean that I have send a messsge to someone before Outlook will recognize that name in my contacts and automatically copmlete the To: Field? Doesn't that seem a bit inefficient? ANcilary to this, I am getting a lot of sys adminerrors that my messges cannot reach theintended server - not all - but more than ever. Thanks - Neil

Autocompletion will not use your Contact data and will require your sending
messages before it will work.

Autoresolution will use your Contact data and will work the same as in
previous versions unless you have not configured your Outlook Address Book
correctly. You'll have to be more specific about the error messages and how
they arise.

Russ - thanks for taking the time to help. Any idea why several of my messages get this

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients

Subject: RE: Updat

The following recipient(s) could not be reached

Did not happen when I try on my other machine. Thanks - Neil

Well that one has to move into first place as the most unhelpful error
message I've ever seen, don't you think? We need to look more closely at
exactly how you are sending this message, how you are selecting the email
address, and how your Outlook Address Book is configured. Please include the
transport you are using.

But most interestingly Russ, when I manually enter an address, rather than cut and paste from an earlier note, it goes through. And, it only does not go through on selected email addresses. Thanks - Neil

Answer my questions. You've provided no information that permits
troubleshooting.
