I am working on a contact database for my wife's business
and would like to coordinate this application with
Outlook. I am using Office 2003. When I attach to the
Outlook Contact Database I do not have access to all the
fields. I have searched help and can not find anything.
Anyone know how I can access the fields I need?

All outlook fields are accessible through Automation.

Access 2003 allows you to link to the Outlook Database
the same way you would another access database, or ODBC
database (File/Get External Data/Link Tables). When I
connect this way only certain fields are available. Is
there another way? If so, how?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
This is a known limitation of linking to Outlook.
As MikeB says, use automation. Of course, if you've no idea
what that means, it might not be a viable alternative as the learning curve
might be too steep :-) Especially as it appears you might be using Outlook 2003
where you will receive a security warning popup everytime you manipulate Outlook
through code. There are ways around that, but once again it adds to the learning curve.

In any case, here a good resource for all things Outlook:

Dan,

One of the reasons I am working on this is to address the
learning curve problem. If I don't attempt it, I wont
learn it!

Thanks for the info!
