I am unable to arrange contacts by last name. In address book contacts, help
says to goto view, arrange by, current view, custo.....
I goto view and the only option is toolbar (on/off).

This is a new computer and I was not able to transfer outlook data from my
old computer thru the program, as the file could not be generated in a
correct format. I have only been able to add them by uploading from my PDA
(Visor Edge). They are listed alphabetically by first name and no matter
how I change the entry, the sort does not change.

I would also like to copy my internet favorites from the old to the new
computer.

Click Tools>Options>Contact Options and choose the default filing order. I
suspect, though, that you really want this:

Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or address
books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book and click Change. At the bottom,
set the "Show names by" order.

If you had Outlook on the old machine, then you didn't have to generate a
thing. Just ciopy your existing PST to the new machine and use it in the
Outlook there.

I tried both of your suggestions, then copied the old pst file to the new
computer. I am finding that my contacts are arranged by the correct order,
but when I want to generate a new message, it goes to the address book, which
will not arrange properly.
 
I may have needed to restart outlook, because it was working properly after
the copy from the old pst file. Thanks

Also, is it possible to transfer favorites from the old computer?

I've never defined any favorites, so I don't have any personal experience.
Perhaps someone else knows. I do know, however, that there is a file ending
in ".fav" that, at least for some versions of Outlook, stored the favorites.
That file is in the (hidden) folder
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook.
