I am using an exchange 2000 server and my clients have outlook 2003. One of
my users is having an issue with his contacts. If he clicks on contacts he
sees his contacts but if he clicks on address book and goes to his contacts
there is nothing. I tried removing outlook address book and readding and no
luck

Remove the Outlook Address Book service and then restart Outlook. Add the
service again and make sure on the properties page of the COntacts folder
the folder is ticked to up as an Address List in the Address Book.

address book and click the dropdown to contacts its blank.

If you have Contacts in the Contacts folder but they are not accessible when
you click on the To button, check these settings:

Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book is checked?

If this is grayed out...

Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change existing directories or
address book. Is the Outlook Address Book present? If it isn't listed, add
it and close and restart Outlook. If it is listed, then remove it and close
then restart Outlook and repeat these steps to add it.

Control panel, mail to add a new profile - don't delete the current one.

Hmm... you shouldn't be able to rename the contacts folder. Try starting
outlook using the resetfolders switch - at start menu, run, type
outlook.exe /resetfolders
