Is this the right group for Office 2000 - Outlook problems? If not would
somebody kindly redirect me.

I have just changed my machine from a Win98 to an XP system. I installed
Office and copied all my files from the old machine. Now the contacts
display behaves differently!

I use the Address Card view for contacts and have "file as" set to
"Company name (last, first. However, on reboot "file as" reverts to
"Last, First" I have searched for an option switch but can't find one,
any ideas?

Unfortunately I am not posting an answer to this problem, but rather
joining you in the problem. My Outlook Express has over a thousan
entries. All were cross referenced (added twice and the second on
displayed by company name). For the third time this year, I opene
the program to find all of the cross referenced contacts listed unde
the name twice and not displayed by company. When I tried to open u
the back-up file from the previous week those were also displayed b
name only, which leads me to believe there is a setting in th
program that is triggering a resort. Can anyone tell me why this i
happening and how I can resolve it? I have had to re-enter all th
data once because of a system crash. I am dreading having to do al
this manually...

Thanks
Pamel

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.

You can also find some good Outlook Express information here:

After furious head scratching, Pam asked:
