Is there any way to format the Outlook Address book to
sort the entries (from Contacts) by the company name?
I am using Outlook for business, which I thought what it
is for. My old 2000 Outlook worked fine in this way. I
feel like I working with Outlook express and certainly
not what I expected.

Thanks for any help.

Use Contacts and Action, Send new message to when you need to find contacts
by company.

(It sounds like you used Outlook 2000 in Internet mode - it's address book
had some features not available in the corporate version, which is where
many of the features in OL2002/2003 came from.)

I actually did use 2000 Corporate, not internet only.
When I would start an new mail message and clicked "TO"
it would open the address book and would be sorted by
company. The way 2003 works, it doesn't seem like a
professional way to do it, I could use the free Outlook
Express and get the same features.

There has to be a better way.

Thanks.

Um... if you could sort you used IMO mode...

Why not let autoresolution find the addresses for you? Type the first few
letters of a name and outlook finds all the matches for you- if it finds too
many matches, right click on the letters to choose the right person.

This setting did not change in Outlook 2003. You must have changed your
configuration.
To sort the Outlook Address Book by the Company field:
1. Set your Contacts' File As fields to show the company name first
2. Sort the Outlook Address Book by the File As field. Tools > E-mail
accounts > View or change existing directories or address books > Outlook
Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

That sounds fine, and I use that feature, but I don't
remember all my contacts names. I need to go by the
company then I can find them.
I did the change as listed from the "MVP" reply, I
already had my contacts set for the company sort, but
after I changed the address book to sort by last name,
then it came up with the company like I need.

Thanks for all the help.
