Oulook 2003 / Exchange 2003: Is there a way to identify which
distribution list(s) a contact is on (other than looking on all the
lists individually)?

Nope.

Based on your subject line asking about a <property> or <method> - assume
this is a programming related question which really belongs in
<microsoft.public.outlook.program_vba>.

That said, the applicable MAPI property is PR_EMS_AB_IS_MEMBER_OF_DL
(&H8008000D) or if you're familiar with Redemption/RDO
(http://www.dimastr.com/redemption) - you can interogate the RDOAddressEntry
<IsMemberofDL> property. Applicable only to EX Dist Groups and not Personal
Distribution Lists.
