Outlook only adds International Code if you have configured it to do so.
Access those settings here:
Contacts > Actions > Call Contact > New Call... > Dialing Options

That doesn't seem to do it. In the contact list when I put in a phone # like
1 (620) 555-1212 and tab off the field outlook adds a + to the beginning of
the #.

If you do not want Outlook to format in International Code, why are you
entering numbers in International Code?

message Maybe. What version of Outlook are you using? Are these U.S. phone
numbers or international? Are you entering the area codes or not?

Thanks
Mark

Not an Outlook problem. Outlook is behaving as designed. Talk to your cell
phone folks. They need to understand how Outlook works if they want to use
it as a data source.

the #.

If you need this for your cel phone, you may be able to work around your
cel phone's sync program limitations by using a format like (1620)
555-1212.

We have a similarly limited cel phone sync program, and this works for
us. (Not in the USA, and a different phone number format, but a similar
case.)

However, this restricts the use of Outlook's dialer and possibly other
functions related to the phone numbers because the area codes are not
correct anymore.

Well, It works. I wrote a small app for the phone (but didnt need to) that
would remove the +. but when I tried a phone # that had a + it dialed
correctly anyways. Go figure..

Thanks Everyone
