contact not highlighted?

this may be picky, but in the past, and on other
computers, whenever I enter the contact folder, I can
begin typing the first few letters of the contacts name
and the list will move to that name. However now, when I
enter the contact folder, no contact is highlighted, and I
must first click on the contact list window or on a
contact, before i can begin to type.

Does anyone know how to change this back?
 
Not that I've seen. A lot of users are reporting the need to reset the focus
when they first open the Contacts Folder, but I've not run into it myself.
 
I am having the same issue with multiple computers. My computer comes up with the first contact hightlighted and my wife's computer comes up without it highlighted. We are both using Outlook 2002. In addition I was working on a friend's computer who uses Outlook 2003 and his comes up not highlighted.

I would think something is triggering this option/feature but I have not been able to find anything.
