Contact names invert

I prefer to display the names in my Contacts in last-name-first order and
always specify that order when I add a contact. I frequently find that when
I look for a name in my Contacts list, it isn't where I expect it to be
because the name has been inverted to first-name-first order. I change the
properties, only to encounter the inversion some time later. Note that not
all of the names invert--it seems to be entirely sporadic. Do you know how I
can prevent this from happening?

You need to specify the view to which you are referring.
You need to specify your Outlook version.
We can't just guess this things.

I am having a similar problem in Word 2000 (WinMe). In the Address Card view
all is well. But when I open a Contact the Full Name shows up with the last
name first. (e.g., John A. Doe shows up as Doe John; J. Pierpont Morgan
becomes Morgan J.) If I drill down in the address I see that the First Name,
Middle and Last Name are all OK. When I insert an address into a Word
document the same screwy Full Name appears. I thought there was a way to fix
this in Control Panel, Mail, but all I see in there is basically e-mail
account settings.

Unrelated problem.
You did not specify your Outlook version.
What is it you want to do?

Sorry. OL 200 and 2002. I wanted to set OL to have the Full Name display as
First Name, Last Name consistently. MOre recently added COntacts were
showing up as Lst Name, First Name, which complicated things. However I
found the answer--In OL go to TOols, Options, COntacts and you can fix the
settings. Seems to work Thanks!
