Contact name found in "address book" but not in outlook

I had a contact the I typed into the search bar and find bar in OL2k, it is
called passwords. A window comes up with several contacts that have the
word passwords in it and I choose the one that I want. I then get a window
that says "outlook could not not find requested contact"

Does anyone knwo what is happening here and how to fix it? I have done the
geneerica steps like detect and repair and scan pst--- hopefully someone
knows how fix this.

Also, how do I check to see if this is a problem with other contacts??? that
I have yet to find.

This is how I do it--make up a fake email address like (e-mail address removed).
Only contacts with email addresses show up for composing email.
