I need to migrate my contacts from a third party program called PSA Cards. I
was hoping to find a software for migration or someone I could contract to
write a program. PSA cards is no longer in business and obsolete. It works
but MS contacts is the future. Thanks...Steve

In what formats can PSA Cards export its data? Choose one that matches one
of the formats Outlook can import.

PSA exports in .txt format only. How would I import this into Outlook?

What's the internal format of the text file? Comma-separated values and
tab-separated values are both text formats.

How can I determine which internal format it is? Thanks for the help.

Editing the file with Notepad or Wordpad and using the arrow keys to move
around in it (to see if there are embedded tabs) should work. it does for
me.

I did what you said and I am not seeing anything. I dont see anything when I
move with the arrows. I am not sure what I am looking for. Thanks again. ..

You're looking for single character motion of the cursor (for spaces), or
largers jumps of the cursor (when there's a tab). Obviously, commas are
evident just by looking.

It is comma seperated. I am still unable to import it into Outlooks contacts.
Outlook is looking for an installer program. I got busy but I will endeavor
to go further later. thanks again Brian.

I don't see where you've mentioned your version of Outlook, so the following
is for OL 2003.

Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs. Locate Microsoft Office and
click Change. Choose Add or Remove Features. Check "Choose advanced
customization of applicaitons" and click Next. Expand Outlook and examine
the icon for Importers and Exporters. Make sure it's set to "Run from My
Computer". Expand it and then expand Import from Other Formats. Add and
extra importers and exporters you wish, particulatly the Text (Windows)
importer and exporter. Click Update.

I am sorry, It is Outlook 2003. I installed the importers and I am still
unable to import. I may be exporting the file incorrectly. When trying to
export the PSA manager asks for delimiters such as \t or \r or \n and I am
not able to find out which it should be since my import fails each time.
Thanks again.

\t would be the tab character so using \t should produce a tab-separated
values file.
