contact list

I have a contact list provided by a co-worker. I copied it to Outlook and it
shows up under my contacts and I can see all the information in the list, but
when I try to access it to send an email using the "To" button, I get a
message that the address list could not be displayed, the folder could not be
opened, it may have been moved or deleted, or i do not have permissions. I
need to use this contact list. Any thoughts?
 
Define what you mean by "contact list" and how you "copied it to Outlook."
Those terms are unclear and could mean anything.
Include your Outlook version, too.
