Outlook 2000 (not Corporate or Workgroup ), MS office XP pro, Win XP
Pro.

The address book is empty (after it included until now the full contact
information), apart from individual names that I can add.

In the outlook folder list> contacts> right button> properties> outlook
address book tab> show this folder...it is marked with a fainted grey
v.mark. I can`t change this mark and make it black.

Please help

Eytan

You aren't using a full version of Outlook and are not using the Outlook
Address Book service.
You are using Outlook Express' address book service. Make sure sharing is
enabled in OE's address book.

Thanks Russ
..Data sharing option in theOE was enabled.
The address book I see in the OE is the same one I see in the OL
How can I tell which service (OE or OL) is being used?
Since the address book is almost empty anyway, what sholud I do in
order to start it fresh?
How do I enable the OL address book service? I guess it did function
until lately, since I did have the full contacts information in my
address book.

When you share the address book between OE and OL, I believe you are looking
at OL's Contacts folder.

Empty your Contacts folder. DO not add contacts from the Address Book
interface. Use the Contacts folder for that.

For Outlook 2000 IMO mode, I believe the address book service is there
automatically.
