When mapping the email address - what email fields are you using for the map
on the Outlook side of things?
More to the point, the email address field in your Excel worksheet which
should contain only (e-mail address removed) should be specifically mapped to one of
the following on the Outlook side "Email Address", "Email 2 Address", or
"Email 3 Address". If you map to either Email, Email 1, or Email 3 - you may
end up with an invalid value in the "Email Type" field causing the problem
you describe. Under normal circumstances, there is no need to map the Email
Type field when importing.

Thanks Russ will remember for the future - is the method that you're
suggesting done using PSTs?
Unfortunately, I needed to transfer the contacts as I was moving
companies.. I don't have access to the original PC and now have the
contacts in an Excel file. It imported every other field without an issue
but is omitting the email address fields for some reason.
Any ideas to save me inputting them all by hand?

You would never transfer Outlook data in this fashion. There is no need
to export or import, especially thorough a non-native file type.
Copy your Outlook data file and open it in the other installation.

I have successfully exported a list of contacts from Outlook 2007 into
Excel 2003, when importing them back into Outlook 2007 on a different
machine the email address details are not being populated.
Can anyone suggest a resolution?
