.contact file will not open in Windows Mail

I am using windows mail, if I open the contacts folder - all of the contacts
have a ".contact" at the end of the name. If I try to edit a contact I get a
message saying that windows does not know what program to use to open this
file type.

however - If I use create mail, and press the "to" button to pick a
contact, I can press "properties" and edit the data.

Does anyone know how to correct the contacts issue -
 
Well that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard - oh wait we are dealing
with microsoft - nevermind.

I have 150+ contacts does anyone know what to do?

Also - none of the links in the notification e-mail worked - Ihad to come in
to the communities and search for my original post.

--Yes - frustrated - worst computer upgrade I ever made.
