I am running Outlook 2003 on a stand alone system. I have backed up data
files from my previous computer (Outlook 2002) and restored them to my new
computer (Outlook 2003) and when I attempt to access my address book from the
drop down menus I get the following message.

"The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permission."

I can access my Contacts through the FOlders on the left side of the screen
but cannot add to any distribution lists.

Thanks,

Susan

Use the Tools | E-mail Accounts dialog to remove the Outlook Address Book service, then restart Outlook, and add the Outlook Address Book back to your mail profile. After you start Outlook a second time, check the Properties dialog of your Contacts folder to make sure that the Outlook Address Book box is checked.
