What is the easiest way to broadcast the same eamil to a selected group of
categories?
 
Highlight all recipients. Tools | Mailmerge | to email | fill in the
subject line | OK. Word starts. Use the Insert Merge Fields button to
selelct First Name etc and then clikc Merge to Email.

That will make a personalised email to many people.
