contact db list is not showing when I hit the "to" button in emai

I was trying ot set up a new profile, but when I go back to my old profile
the contact db listing shows up as blank when I am composing an email.
However, the db is still there if I launch it directly. So the link is
somehow gone. How do I relink the contact db so ti shows up when composing an
email within Outlook. Using Outlook 2002.
