Constant prompting

I have Vista Ultimate installed for less than 24 hours, but have noticed I
get prompted for several thing I do. Is there a way to reduce / eliminate
the prompting?

That's probably UAC - it's trying to protect you :-) You can turn it off by
going to Control Panel->User Accounts->Turn User Account Control on or off.
If you can put up with the prompting your system is safer with it left on.
