I use windows xp home with explorer 6.0. while online i
am constantly getting advetisements popping up, and it is
becoming a real nusance. I have tried some of the latest
blockers, but they don't seem to work, and i am getting
frustrated. In turn they are aslo creating cookies, in
such emmense amount that my cruncher cant keep up. Does
any person know what i can do to stop these dang
advetisments from comming in??????

Could be uninvited Spyware guests.

Removal Tool, your choice, novice users, Lavasoft's Ad-aware,
http://ftp.pcworld.com/pub/new/privacy___security/aaw6181.exe

Lavasoft/Ad-aware home: http://www.lavasoftusa.com

Advanced users, SpyBot Search & Destroy,
http://studserver.uni-dortmund.de/~su1669/spybotsd12.exe

SpyBot home: http://security.kolla.de/
SpyBot How-To: http://www.tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/

Install either but both are not necessary, reboot, read FAQ and overview, use
online update feature to obtain the latest reference files, scan for Spyware
much like you would with your pre-installed anti-virus scanner.
Rid your machine of unwanted Spyware pests.

hi you might have a adware on your system, if you got a
adware remove program than most popup blocker you will be
able to add more that you want to block.you have to look
for it.mind is in tools

Go here worked for me.
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm#tshoot. I did
the BHO stuff.

The web master of that site needs to update the links info.
PC Mag's BHO Cop now requires a subscription to download.
The links and info that I posted in this thread are more-or-less similar.
