I want to tell windows that domain xyz has IP 192.168.0.209 (this box
doesn't use NetBIOS). Can I do this? is there a file, like the unix
/etc/hosts?

Thanx in advance,
Thomas Jollans

Thomas,

Yep. %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in 32-bit Windows. YMMV
for 9x.

Cheers,

Chuck

Yes it's in winnt( or windows )\system32\drivers\etc\hosts for NT kernel
Oses ( NT/W2K/XP ) and in
windows itself in W9x ( look for hosts.sam file and do hosts from it )
