Hi,
About 3 months ago I began experiencing crash problems
with IE. My OS is Windows XP Home. The problem is:
while navigating trhough websites, a dialog box appears
telling the Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
and do I want to send an ERROR REPORT. I send the report
and then when I close the dialog box, IE closes as well.
I must have sent 1,000 of these reports and I've yet to
hear from Microsoft or anything. I've searched the
Knowledge Base and have found nothing that seems to help
me solve this problem. Because I have an OEM version of
XP, Microsoft refuses to lend any support. The computer
store where I puchased my PC is gone so it appears that
I'm just stuck with bad OS.

I've installed Spy Sweeper and constantly scan my PC for
content watchers, hijackers, etc. I use Norton 2004
Internet Security which is automatically updated weekly.

Even while I was navigating through Microsoft's website
looking for an answer, the problem occurred 3 times. In
fact, this is the second time I'm trying to post this
message.

I sure would appreciate some help from someone. Surfing
the net has become a real frustrating ordeal.

You can contact me at (e-mail address removed)

Thanks

It is possible you have a hijacker, malware, spyware or parasites on your
system that can cause this problem. In addition to running your updated
anti-virus program, you should do the following to be sure none of these
are present on your system. Follow all instructions carefully:

Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Be sure to run CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot.
Also be sure to use the HijackThis. Please do not post your log to this
newsgroup, but to the SpywareInfo or the Aumha HiJackThis forums
http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30, to allow the experts there to
evaluate your log and advise you of the necessary steps to clean your
system.

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of the programs
below, download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Also, get a copy of WINSOCKFIX available at:
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
and
AdAware SE
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
Update immediately after installing before using

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)
