Looks good... I never thought of it for Windows 2000 to Windows 2003, only NT 4.0 to Windows 2000/2003.

Don,
Your best bet is to use the ADMTv2 tools that Microsoft has for doing exactly this. The process isn't horrible but it needs to be planned and staged carefully to avoid problems.
Pay specific attention to the prerequisites and make sure that you deal with those portions completely before hand. (Trusts, native mode, file sharing on workstations.)
The help files for the ADMTv2 are excellent and the checklists that it provides will come in very handy. Intrinsic.net also has a great whitepaper on the process and is a good starting point (the PDF is too big to post here.)
I'll answer any questions you have about the process as I have been through it a few dozen times -- I can't give out any of my documentation due to my NDA though.

I guess I want to migrate, then upgrade, i.e. I want the two Windows 2000 domains to become one Windows 2000 domain, and then upgrade the resulting domain to Windows 2003. The upgrade part won't be a problem.

Real quickly, do you want to upgrade or migrate?

Hi guys... my company just bought another company. Both companies are currently running Windows 2000 domains in two separate offices. I've already set up a VPN tunnel for the two offices to connect to each other. Now, I'm trying to find the best way to consolidate the two domains into one domain. I would appreciate any reference to articles, white papers, etc. that would assist.
Thanks in advance.
