I keep my personal and home-business IDs separate in XP but use Outlook 2000
for both. How do I consolidate calendar and contacts so I don't have to flip
back and forth all the time? Thanks!

Clarify what you mean by IDs.
Clarify what information store Outlook uses: Exchange Server or local data
file.

Russ:

IDs -- I mean separate User Accounts in XP. There are other family member
accounts in addition to the two I use for myself and my business.

Information Store -- How/where do I check this to answer your question? I
looked through all the Outlook\Tools options but couldn't find anything that
seemed about what you're asking.

Thanks, Jane

Each Windows logon will use a different Outlook profile. It should be a
simple matter to set each profile to use the same Outlook data file. If you
don't know how, it will be necessary for you to post your mail support mode
of Outlook 2000. (Line 2 of Help | About: Internet Mail Only or
Corp/Workgroup)

Russ,

Here's what displays in Help\About Microsoft Outlook:

Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.3821)
Internet Mail Only

After that, it's a large paragraph of text about different involved
companies followed by my product ID number. Is that the information you were
looking for? (In case it isn't patently obvious, I am no technical wizard.)

Then pick which of the Outlook Data Files you want to use, and set each
installation to use it.

To change your default PST in IMO:
- File menu > Open > Personal Folders file > migrate to the new PST file
location to open it
- Right-click on the root of the new set of folders in the folder pane (View
Folder List)
- Choose Properties
- Check the "Deliver POP mail" box
- Quit & restart Outlook
- Now you can Close the PST file that you were previously using (R-click on
that pst folder while in Folder View and select "Close <foldername>
Folders"). If you have any information in your former PST that you'd like to
transfer to your new default PST, you can drag and drop from one to the
other before you close the old one.
