Consistent slow bootup times

XP SP2

When I examine the event log I see 3 errors

EventId (26) in Source (Application Popup) cannot be found. The following
information is part of event: Machine Check: Banks
EventId (26) in Source (Application Popup) cannot be found. The following
information is part of event: Machine Check: Regs, 8
EventId (26) in Source (Application Popup) cannot be found. The following
information is part of event: Machine Check: Regs, 0

Any ideas? I've swapped memory and that didn't help any. Could it be the
hardware?
