Connectors with text

Is there any way in PowerPoint to automatically make some text move with a connector (like it does in Visio) on a flow chart?

I can group a text box and a connector, but then the connector does not really work right.
 
If you use the elbow connector (Autoshapes > Connectors)and regular text
boxes (not placeholders) the connector line will move and adjust when you
move one of the text boxes. The trick is to make the line snap to a handle
on each text box. When you select the line you should see a red handle on
each of the two ends.
