Does anybody know if it's possible to connect to the internet on my iPaq pocket pc 2215 using my nokia 7250i as a modem?

Thanks

Or is it at all possible to connect to the internet with a pocket pc using a mobile phone as a modem?

Thanks

It is indeed :)

Activate infra-red on your mobile phone, and point it at the PDA's IRDA port. It should detect it and add it as a standard IR modem. From this you can then dial a normal ISP dial number with username and password (in the settings panel).

Is Infrared enabled on your PPC? Try browsing through some of the settings relating to communication, as it should detect it straight away.

No nothing, have gone into settings on my pocket pc and enabled recieve all incoming beams but it doesn't detect it. The only time it picks it up is if I go Settings, Beam and then 'Recieve an infrared beam from a pocket PC 2000 or H/PC device' and then try sending my PPC a bus. card from my phone, then all it says on my PPC is 'Establishing connection with Nokia 7250i....', it then stays like this without actually doing anything.

I understand if you want to give up on me!

I can't think of anything else Papa Smurf, as I dont have the same phone or PPC. I think a combination of playing arond will be your best bet. Try setting up a connection to dial a number and see if it can dial out and establish a connection that way?

Got the 7250i Phone, and a Toshiba E350 PDA

I get the same just sits there, I think maybe it the phone as the issues, and we have different PDA's
I will get it connected some how :-) and let yu know

OK great thanks!

Been trying to sort it out today, been talking to online ipaq customer services. The final thing said was (after 2 hours!) 'If the iPAQ fail to detect more than one IR enabled devices, then the iPAQ has to be diagnosed for hardware failure'.

So much hassle!
