Maximum of 10 sessions open on print server.
I have the same issue as Geddy. post date 25/09/03.
I have a windows 2000 pro print server with 4 printers installed using
either standard tcp port monitors or panasonic ip2p ports.
When 10 concurrent connections to the print server are reached, the printers
appear unavailable to other users attempting to print. (which is expected)
This may or may not be also crashing my spooler (the real problem), but my
question is this:
I have been monitoring the sessions from the mmc console under shares and
for some reason some of the sessions remain open for hours even though they
are idle, whilst others connect and disconnect no problem.
Does any one know why these connections remain open and what can i do about
it (apart from buying another win 2k server). At present i have to manually
disconnect the sessions that are inactive. The sessions remain open even if
the user has nothing running on the desktop.

please delete my original post from this news group.

I have been spammed good n proper.

lesson learned!!
