Hello.

We are considering putting up one of our databases from a
stand alone machine to a server so several folks can work
with it at once (10 - 25 folks). We have not tried this
before, does anyone have any suggestions as to what steps
to take?

I'm sure their is licensing issue and I have heard rumor
that Access can only handle five connections
Simultaneously, even if the license is for more.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to start
researching this? Any tips or wisdom is greatly
appreciated.
.
We put our system on a network recently and nothing but
trouble until we put only the data on the network and
put 'thick' clients on each client machine with both the
access and any program code copied to each client and
links to the data on the network.

A disadvantage of this approach is that any changes in
forms, reports, code have to be copied to each client site
independently.

One big advantage is that you can work on one machine
without disturbing other users.

We have 5 clients running at the same time.

Thank you!
