If I wish to check mail, Outlook Express 6 is default handler, while on an
IE6 dial-up session, invoking the mail client will kill the connection. How
do you change settings to prevent this? Thanx

Susan,

Tools in Outlook Express, and then clicking Options. On the Connection tab, deselect the check box for Hang up after sending and receiving.

From: http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/disconnect.htm

In OE go to Tools | Accounts and do the following for each mail and news
account:

Double click the account.
Go to the Connection tab.
Uncheck "Always connect to this account using:".

Apparently OE can't check to see what account you are connected through, so
it closes the connection and then reconnects the one you told it to use just
to be safe.
