Connection to Exchange Server Unavailable

When setting up Outlook 2003 on a Windows 2000 computer, I am not able to
access the Exchange server. I can ping both the IP address and the name of
our Exchange Server from this computer. But when I try to "Check Name" under
exchange server setting, I get an error that says, "The name could not be
resolved. the connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable.
Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." I am sure that
I am entering a correct Exchange server name and mailbox name but I am still
getting this error. I have installed all patches for Windows 2000 and Office
2003. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

hello Stacy
I'm having the exact same problem if you find out anything please let me
know I will do the same .

I ended up re-formating the hard drive and re-installing everything to get it
to work. I hope you figured something out that wasn't so drastic and time
consuming.
