Help. I did a bunch of Win2K auto-update on my home PC which I use to
connect to our domain at work last night. I selected all the Windows 2000
security updates that was offered by auto-update, Direct X 9, and MPlayer 9.
After all these, and, I think 3 MS Reboot, I vpn'ed (Cisco VPN client to
Cisco 3000 concentrator) to our domain at work, I opened outlook to connect
to our Exchange 2000 server. Outlook just sits there and could not open my
mailbox. I had to "End Task" it. I tried to open mapped drives in our
domain, Explorer cannot open them.

Can anyone tell me what hotfix caused this? I have to uninstall it so I
will be open my mailbox again. What confuses me is that I can telnet to our
IBM RS6000 with no problem at all. This telnet client I use to connect to
the IBM uses the old Winsock.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

I'm sure if I re-create my profile, I won't be able to gain access to the
Exchange server. It seems the domain has abandoned its trust to my home
workstation! I cannot open mapped drives, cannot use terminal services
client to connection to my Win2K servers at work! All these after
installing a slew of Hot Fixes from M$ update.
I hope someone can direct me to a solution to my problem.

I have already re-built just last week because of the same problem. I
shouldn't have allowed M$ update update my workstation. I should have left
it at SP4. Darn. I don't have a backup to fall back to.
