I'm sorry to keep posting "new" questions, but on top of having problems with
Outlook, i'm having problems with figuring out how this "Discussion Group"
process works. Every time i open the Discussion Group page, I get a message
that there is no profile for me and so I have to re-create my profile each
time. I see that Peter Foldes has posted as response to my question. Thank
you Peter! However, I cannot get the response to display. When I click on
it, I get the message, "No posts available for this thread. Any suggestions
on what I can do differently?

I don't use the webmail-for-dummies interface that Microsoft uses to
pretend they have forums by usurping Usenet. Some folks want to use a
web browser for everything but then they get stuck with what limited
features it provides. You might want to use a real newsreader to do
newsgroups, like Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Xananews, Xnews, and
there are several others (I use 40tude Dialog). Then connect it to your
NNTP server to get at the newsgroups. Motzarella has a free NNTP server
carrying all but the binary groups. Microsoft has a free NNTP server at
msnews.microsoft.com that carries only the microsoft.public.* groups.

In the meantime, and if you still want to continue using Microsoft's
webnews interface to Usenet, try reading:

http://www.microsoft.com/library/gallery/components/wn/3/locales/help/help_en-US.htm#GettingStarted

There might be something there to help you. Presumably you are logging
in when using their webnews interface.
