I am using Microsoft's Connection manager with my business VPN. We are trying to connect through broadband and the connection is fine and I can browse the web, but when I go to tunnel through with the connection manager it gives an error saying, "Modem is not configured properly or port is in use." The modem is disabled on the notebook and we have tried rebooting the machine. Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated

If I understand the problem correctly, you are using Connection Manager to
establish a vpn connection once yor are on internet (using broadband). In
such case you should use Connection Manager VPN profile to connect to your
VPN server. The 'Dialup' setting in cms file should be set to '0' in that
case.
Otherwise, make sure you have selected "I'm already connected to Internet"
option under properties.

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Dinesh.
